Medical Cannabis Program

Slovenia enacted one of the most liberal medical cannabis prescribing frameworks in Europe, effective 20 August 2025, following passage of the Medical Cannabis Measure by the National Assembly on 15 July 2025. Under this law, physicians may prescribe medical cannabis for essentially any condition based on individual clinical judgment, rather than a fixed list of approved indications — a significant departure from most European frameworks, including Croatia's list-based system.
