Medical Cannabis Program

Luxembourg operates a separate, prescription-based medical cannabis program administered through hospital pharmacies under supervision of the Ministry of Health. Medical cannabis is legally classified as a "magistral preparation," compounded specifically for the individual patient. Only doctors practicing in Luxembourg who have completed specific training in cannabis pharmacology, presentation forms, therapeutic indications, side effects and prescribing procedure are authorized to prescribe it.
